Aquatic Culture is seeking two reliable and enthusiastic people to fill Warehouse Assistant positions.

About us:

Aquatic Culture is a successful family run primary producer and supplier of freshwater aquarium fish, located near Innisfail in Far North Queensland (FNQ). We are a small and passionate team that pride ourselves on our fish husbandry, and the quality of our domestically produced livestock. We specialise in supplying aquarium fish wholesalers, aquarium stores, pet stores, zoos, and public aquariums Australia-wide with a diverse range of high-quality ornamental fish.

About the role:

Full-time staff for a minimum two-year contract to assist in our day-to-day duties on the fish farm. These include:

·       Collecting and catching live fish for orders

·       Packing and processing orders within strict timeframes

·       Recording results and communicating with management

·       Maintaining aquariums and ponds

·       Feeding and maintaining healthy livestock

·       Water changing aquariums

·       General cleaning and maintenance duties around the farm.

We are a primary producer dealing with livestock in a fast-paced environment. To be successful for this role, you must meet the following essential criteria:

·       Be able to work independently with minimal supervision, including being punctual, reliable, and trustworthy

·       Follow directions and communicate results

·       Effective organisational skills, including the ability to manage time and prioritise tasks

·       Good problems solving skills

·       Diligent and able to achieve results

·       Effectively communicate and work in a team

·       Capable of physical labour, including lifting and carrying heavy items

·       Attention to detail, with great observational skills

·       Flexible and adaptable to meet differing workloads and timeframes (which will include some overtime)

·       Physical resilience to work effectively in a warm, humid environment

·       Have a current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.

Desirable criteria:

·       Have demonstrable knowledge of keeping aquarium fish (preferable & HIGHLY REGARDED)

·       Experience in using farm machinery such as generators, bore pumps, tractors, slashers and ride on mowers would be preferred.

Working hours for this role are between 7.30am – 4.00pm for 5 days/week and will be rostered Monday to Sunday (negotiable and subject to overtime)

Pay: $1000.00 – $1,200.00 per week

Benefits: Accommodation in the farm house can also be provided if required at a small fee.
