✨Online Retailer Visit in China✨
Today we had the lucky opportunity to visit an online retailer that is having a huge following in China😋❗️
They predominantly sell through ✨Temu and Taobao, as well as TikTok✨ to a lesser extent. We missed the first truckload of boxes they packed today, but were there as they were loading up the second truck. It's totally astounding the volumes they are doing here👀🚛📦.
As mentioned previously, small packages (1–2kg) can be shipped all over China for around $2 AUD❗️Also, the delivery times are astonishingly quick too, many are same day, most are overnight and some take 72 hours👏. This is a huge achievement considering the vast size of China. In Australia, the live fish online market is being limited to a huge extent by our courier services, the costs involved, as well as their efficiency/reliability and not to mention recently imposed restrictions by some couriers on carrying livestock.
The owner, Yang Nan, was an excellent host and shared his experiences and knowledge freely👍🏻. Once again, all discussions were held whilst drinking tea in his office, surrounded by stunning display tanks and a showroom of tanks filled with fish for sale. Very cool❗️👀
Packages were professionally packed with heat packs, inner foil bags and then into their cute little foam boxes. All these supplies are very cheap here. This is another expense that in Australia adds up significantly to the cost of doing business📦🐟🐠❗️
The funny thing is they don't even have a website, so I can't even share that here. Websites are now obsolete❗️🫢 Also, emails are seldomly used these days. Pretty much everything is done on your phone via WeChat. WeChat is used for all payments and communications. Cash is seldomly used and most places don't even accept credit cards. They don't even carry cash to give you change❗️
There is still plenty of growing for us in Australia and as time goes by, we will most certainly follow these trends from overseas. When it happens is all up to us❗️✨
