I have gained so much knowledge and generated a fresh inspirational drive to overcome the difficulties that farming fish in Australia has🔥. I have a deeper understanding of the cultural significance of fish over here🐟. Fish are everywhere❗️✨ We commonly see aquariums in stores and restaurants, ponds at hotels and shopping centres.

Meeting so many new contacts willing to help me and share their fishkeeping wisdom is something I will never forget✨😉

Today we had the lucky opportunity to visit an online retailer that is having a huge following in China😋❗️

They predominantly sell through ✨Temu and Taobao, as well as TikTok✨ to a lesser extent. We missed the first truckload of boxes they packed today, but were there as they were loading up the second truck. It's totally astounding the volumes they are doing here👀🚛📦.

The owner, Yang Nan, was an excellent host and shared his experiences and knowledge freely👍🏻

It's really overwhelming the sheer volume of fish... I don't want to miss anything but there's just so much to absorb😅. My mind gets blown away here every visit. This place has pretty much every type of ornamental fish you can dream of❗️✨🐟

The other thing I noticed since my last visit was that many of the smaller stalls now display fish in jumbo fish bags prepacked on big shelves, rather than the small, heavily overcrowded shoebox tanks❗️🫢

Today we had the honour of being invited to a goldfish farm that specialises in breeding ✨Oranda and Ryukin✨. In China, the different varieties of goldfish are produced in different provinces dependent on their prevailing climate and water parameters📖❗️

The goldfish farm also had a greenhouse that had some interesting tropical species being produced, including ✨many varieties of glofish and some beautiful swordtails, guppies, tetras, and killifish✨.

⭐️Next stop is Guangzhou Fish Markets❗️

Today Sifu Peter took us to ✨Luofu Mountain✨🏞️, a sacred Taoist mountain that is linked to both the Dragon and Bak Mei styles of Kung Fu.

Now for what we have been waiting for: the fish house tours✨. Each fish house on Peter’s farm specialises in producing a certain few types of fish, with the caretakers being the experts in producing their chosen species 👀🐠🐟— Ramirezi fish house, Cardinal Tetra fish house, Rummynose Tetra fish house, and Emperor Tetra fish house, just to name a few.

We arrived in China via the high speed train🚊 travelling at speeds over 300km/hr to visit my mentor, Peter from Cornwall Aquatics🐟.

I am very excited to see the progress he has made on his own farm since my last visit in 2018👀❗️He now has built 13 fish houses on his mountainside property and each fish house is similar to 1 Aquatic Solutions❗️

Just arrived to ✨Mongkok✨ and our first stop was to fill our bellies🤤. Where else can you go to a 3-time Michelin restaurant for a meal for less than $9 AUD🫢❗️

We finally made it to ✨Tung Choi street✨ to check out the aquarium vendors and straight away noticed the amount of small Animal stores that have crept in and taken over many of the positions that Aquarium stores used to occupy🧐❗️
